Hi, I’m Kate (she/her)

I love working with adults who want to get curious about the ways their past affects their present. Beginning in childhood, we learned to adapt to our circumstances and adjust our behaviors to maintain safety and security with others.

Many of us found along the way that our emotions, needs, or wants were "too much" for the people we turned to for connection and protection. As a result we may have come to believe that we had to hide parts of ourselves in order to be loved or cared for.

Over time this hiding can lead to feelings of distress, anxiety, depression, shame, relationship challenges, and even chronic pain.

I have personal experience with each of these things, and have gained acceptance, compassion, and relief through my own therapy and hope to help you find the same.

My style of therapy

I will work with you to understand and welcome the parts of you that have been hidden, and help you find new ways to welcome and engage with these parts. I will accompany your deep exploration using an integrative, experiential, relational approach that incorporates attachment theory, interpersonal neurobiology, and depth psychology.

My foundational training and therapeutic focus is rooted in the concepts of DEEP therapy, which encapsulates all of the above and has been a primary source of personal and professional development and meaning-making for me.

In addition to continued learning with the creator of DEEP, I am engaged in ongoing training and consultation with the pioneers of the STAIR method as well as Coherence Therapy. All of these frameworks incorporate non-pathologizing, strength-affirming, neuroscience-based methods of addressing our unique experiences as humans navigating our relationships with ourselves, each other, and the world.

If this sounds interesting to you, please reach out to see if we’d be a good fit to work together!
